“Why doesn’t he just quit?” That sentiment has been echoed from the hearts of many of G.C. Gobin’s acquaintances and critics and has been a suitable theme overall in each chapter of this young man’s life. I sound more important when I write in the third person, so let’s just proceed with the shenanigans to maintain the tone of this bio, shall we?

Now, at 37-years-old, G. C. Gobin has an impressive resume of dabbling in various career fields and interesting situations from working as a security officer to secretary at an attorney’s office, to assistant manager of a retail store, to an ambitious songwriter, to a production assistant in the television industry, to owner of a production company who created and pitched many television pilot episodes, to a modern-day van-life gypsy, to day laborer building industrial-sized pallets, to Bible school graduate.

After three years in Bible school, he graduated, earning a Bachelor of Divinity. Although actively involved in ministry work, he vowed to never take a dime from anybody doing any type of ministry work. Due to his conviction about not wanting ministry work to be a profession, G.C. Gobin became an EMT and worked in the Bay Area of California for almost a year.

In the midst of these transitional stages of his life, the one thing that remained constant and stable over the years during these milestones, was his love and passion for writing. Although many hats were worn during his lifetime, these career-based costumes couldn’t cover his identity, and that is the identity of a writer. G.C. Gobin initially started storytelling and writing poetry at the early age of 11-years-old in order to cope with traumatic situations and depression. His writing for self-comfort carried on and this coping mechanism turned into an art that started captivating others. It’s funny how it isn’t until a certain amount of silent screaming is endured where a writer’s voice is actually developed.

Every accomplishment achieved in his life was accompanied by naysayers and doubters shadowing his efforts, but overall, the odds that were stacked against him were ultimately conquered. At 37-years-old, the odds continue to remain against him. G.C. Gobin took advantage of an unfortunate situation in his life and used it as fuel to ignite his decision to go all in with starting the Loner Guy publishing company.

Loner Guy Publishing’s mission is to tell stories without profanity, or graphic sexual content, while provoking thought and hopefully keeping the younger generation immersed in a good book and out of trouble. Although a multitude of works are in the pipeline, ranging from nonfiction to fiction, G.C. Gobin intends to focus his efforts on publishing young adult fiction.

G.C. Gobin also admired the tenacity, vision, drive, and dedication of those who are committed to self-publishing and are willing to break free from the agenda pushing propaganda of the media, and he wanted to use Loner Guy publishing as a way to help and collaborate with those like-minded individuals by providing his services.
